QS services for Sub Contractors

Estimating – WQS Consultants can carry out take offs form drawings, budget assessments from a design brief and sketches.  We are able to give high level budgets down to very detailed costs, depending on the quality of the documentation and what is required.

Sub contractor tender submissions – With our years of main contract QS experience we believe we are in an excellent position to help structure a sub contractors bid in a way that can easily be evaluated by the main contractor, whilst also protecting the sub contractors interests.

Pre let meeting support/contract analysis – With so many main contractors going under it is important that any sub contractor engaging in a contract with a main contractor understands their obligations, scope and processes for contra charges and retentions.  Having worked for two out of the top 3 main contractors in New Zealand our contractual knowledge and understanding is excellent, and learnt through study as well as applying those principles to real life situations.  WQS are happy to assess the contractual terms and advice/attend the pre let meeting with the sub contractor.

Site visits – WQS Consultants are happy to visit the site being worked to assess progress, variations or contra charges in order to assist in helping the sub contractor resolve any issues

Progress claims - If required, WQS Consultants will complete the progress claims on behalf of the client to insure they are submitted, substantiated and complied in accordance with the contract and the Construction Act.

Variations – WQS can assess and compile variations in terms of submission and build up on behalf of the client.  With full breakdown and substantiations the aim is to make the variations easily assessable by the main contractor and thus result in agreement and subsequent payment in a quicker timeframe.

Final account negotiations – Here we will assist in the negotiations for the final account and retention release claims.
